This was my first glider ride. It is a Schleicher ASW 12 (I think). It
was highly
maneuverable, and my first (and last) experience of flying a
plane inverted.
A very tight fit, especially with the parachutes. I was in Phoenix AZ
for an LG&E project circa 1980.
This is the instrument panel. Other than the oil pressure gauge, the
most important
instrument was a piece of string taped directly to the front window. It
easily told you
if you were going straight through the air or side slipping (creating
excessive drag.)
This, I believe is the same make but different model, but was near Polk
City Florida in the '07's
