Gran Canaria
Sept 7 through Sept 9
Revised Monday, June 17, 2013
This is our apartment in Tauro, Gran Canaria. It was a beautiful place
but lacked electricity in Eric and Karen's half!
View from our room.
One could not have had a better view
Drinks by the pool.
Eric and Karen's friends, Loli & Rodolfo, spent 2 days
with us showing us the sites and culture of their island.
That's Loli in the middle (a bad place to be)
This was in Mogan, Gran Canaria.
We drove over the top of Gran Canaria in two cars.
The name of this reservoir is:
"Embalse de la Cueva de la ninas"
It about 2900ft (1000m) but the temperature was 40C = 104F
It was about 32C or 90F at sea level. It was HOT!
We had lunch in Teror, Gran Canaria.
Little English, but Loli & Rodolfo translated for us.
A good lunch and beer! (I had only one beer ... honest!)
See! Eric is leading.
The "Praying Bishop"
We traveled these roads. They make me tired too!
Rudolfo and Eric inspect the church where Christopher Columbus
prayed before leaving for the new world discovery
Tapas with Loli & Rodolfo!
Oh, see the wine? We had wine too!
This was so typical. Loli with a camera and a smile.
This too was typical. Do you think they solved the problem?
The beach at Las Palmas.
There is a natural wave break which keeps the water and
beach perfect for the beach goers.
These sand sculptures were unbelievably intricate!
This is the view that Loli and Rodolfo have from their patio.
Look at the flowers and the view! (The grass is not real though)
Rodolfo is preparing Paella in his kitchen.
We had been invited into their home for a delightful meal with our new friends!
Loli is sharing her photo album.
It was uncanny how similar this album is to one we have at home.
What a perfect way to say goodbye!
At the end of the day Rodolfo said: "English make me tired!". WE UNDERSTAND!!!
Hugs and kisses!!!
Out last wonderful meal on Gran Canaria.
